Welcome to the South Baldwin County Newcomers' Club Web Site |
![]() |
I hope you find our website helpful and
informative. Our 2011-2012 SBNC Board is gaining the ability to use
technology along with the rest of the world and decided this would be an
appropriate avenue of communication for both members and potential
members. Whether you are here on the beautiful Gulf Coast, or in the
great north, central plains, or out west; reading this and dreaming of
our beautiful beaches you can view the social activities we have planned
for your enjoyment when you become a resident (or winter visitor). We
have members from almost every state. Our club's objective is to foster the civic, social, and educational betterment of the general community in which we live. We are "not for profit" and anyone who shares a desire to help fulfill these community needs or find new friends is welcome. Please look over the website and contact an officer if you need more information or want to attend a luncheon meeting as a guest. Best Wishes, Sharon Ramirez SBNC 2011-2012 President (Under Sharon Ramirez's presidency the web site first appeared.) |
The club
was first organized in November of 1995 ...
The purpose of the club is to encourage women from our area to come together to have fun and enjoy activities, while raising money for chartable donations to benefit our community. 2010 - 2011 charitable recipients. The club membership annual dues are $20. We have our membership luncheon meetings the 1st Tuesday of each month, except for July. You must make reservations for the luncheon by the published deadline. Check the Sandpiper, our newsletter, this web site, or even our local newspapers. In addition to the luncheon meetings, there are a variety of special interest groups that you may join once you are a member. You name it and we probably have a special interest group of like-minded women. If there is ever a special interest group that you would like to begin and lead, just let out Special Interest Group Officer know and she will help you get started. * If you would like to join the South Baldwin Newcomers' Club please click here: I would like to join! |
A guide to using our web site ... |

pages explained below. When you are on a web page if you look at
this links bar, located at the top of the page, you will see that the
link to the page that you are on looks different. To help you keep your bearings as you use our web site the link to a page that you are already on will look like this (see picture below). The link to the page you are presently on will have a pink background, while the pages that you are NOT on, will continue to have the white background with turquoise text. |

SBNC Scrapbook: This is where you can find information about past and upcoming luncheons and pictures from the luncheons and from the special interest groups. |
Announcements: Any announcements of interest to the entire club can be found here. Go here to read our President's monthly message, as well as, find information about our upcoming luncheons. |
|
Interest Groups: Whether you are new or a long-standing member, this is the place to go to find out about the special interests groups that you might want to join. Once you are an SBNC member you are welcome to join any of the groups that are open. On this page you will be able to find out who to contact to get more information on a particular group. Any groups that are closed are closed only because of the number of people who are already members. Many groups meet at members' homes and the homes can only accommodate a few people. But, remember that if you want to start a new group, whether there is an existing group already serving your interests or an existing group is closed, you only need to contact the chairperson of the Special Interest Groups to get help in starting a group. |
Local Attractions: South Baldwin County and Pensacola are so rich in the variety of activities and cultural events that are offered to residents and visitors. This is the page that you should go to if you're interested in what's available to do in our area. If you know of something going on that has been omitted please let me know so that I can add that information to our listings. You can email that information to dgm82010@gmail.com |
|
Bulletin Board: The intent is for this page to provide our members with a venue to post items that members want to sell, buy, or give away.... or I suppose even rent, if you are handling the rental of your own condo or house and you are not a professional rental company. |
May We Suggest ...: Since we have many new members who are new to South Baldwin County and/or unfamiliar with our area. we wanted to provide a listing of trustworthy people and/or businesses. Therefore, it is imperative that if you want to recommend someone or a business that you have actually used the services yourself. If you want to submit information please send me the name of the person or business that you are recommending, the contact information for the service person or business, and a short personal explanation of why you are able to provide a recommendation. You can email this info to dgm82010@gmail.com |
|
Club Info: This is where you can find and contact the present officers of SBNC. The membership form is also located on this page. |
Volunteer Opportunities: Many of you have discovered the real blessing of volunteering — we salute you!! Others of you may be interested in doing so, but don’t know what is available or how to connect. Hopefully one of these organizations will catch your interest. |
|
New Connections: These are one-time trips, events, or outings. These planned activities are listed on this page. If you have an idea, the first step is to contact the Chairperson of the Special Interest Groups. That chairperson will help to get the word out to the membership and will also let me know the details so that I can post the information on this page. (I have included this group because it is a group that will never be closed due to the number of members in the group.) |
Single Gals: This is a group comprised of women who are single and enjoy doing things with other like-minded women. This is not a dating group! lol Our members typically plan or discover impromptu activities and share that information with the members of this special interest group.oup. On this page you can see what activities are planned and who to contact if you want to participate. (I have included this group because it is a group that will never be closed due to the number of members in the group.) |
|
Stitch 'n Bitch: This is a unique and fun group of women who enjoy needlework, whether that be knitting, needlepoint, sewing, or crochet. The group gathers at the Orange Beach Adult Activity Center on the last Wednesday of the month at 2:30pm. This center is located next door to the Orange Beach Library. (I have included this group because it is a group that will never be closed due to the number of members in the group.) |
Travel: This is a group chaired by Pat Krider. Pat plans day and overnight trips of all types. Details on these trips can be found here. (I have included this group because it is a group that will never be closed due to the number of members in the group.) |
|
Games of Choice: This group meets at the Orange Beach Adult Activity Center on the 2nd Thursday of the month. This center is located next door to the Orange Beach Library. Linda Tucker is the chairperson of the group. The group usually plays Mexican Train but is open to playing other games. Please bring a covered dish to share for lunch. (I have included this group because it is a group that will never be closed due to the number of members in the group.) |
